I was in western Paraná, at the heart of Primato/Tupy  spectacular Bioplant, and I felt so happy because this facility represents one of the best examples of Brazilian Agriculture. Our mission is to show the existence of a Brazil that makes things happen and a big part of us almost didn't know about it.

I was talking to Mr. Anderson Léo Sabadin, President of Primato, a Brazilian Agri Industrial Cooperative. This cooperative brings together around 11 thousand agricultural families, most of whom are involved in producing swine, meat, and milk. The highlight is manure being spectacularly transformed into Biofuels. These cooperative members transform animal manure into biofertilizers, bioelectricity, and biomethane. Considering an entire region, already prepared to be rich in energy and decarbonisation, and this orchestration by Primato Cooperative with an admirable engineering industry, Tupy MWM (Motors and Generators) becomes a historic, spectacular fact. I asked President Mr. Sabadin about the significance of this work for the Cooperative, the region, and our country, Brazil, and he told me:

“Tejon, the cooperative movement in Western Paraná has the responsibility to produce food, but do it for a healthier world. This is our proposal for the installation of the Bioplant in the municipality.

We are large producers of meat, protein, and milk in the region, and the discussion of our group of 11 thousand members was focused on How to Produce more Sustainably.

We know the integration of crops, livestock, and forests, and the question is: what to do appropriately and standardised with animal manure. This Bioplant has this importante objective. It´s located in the municipality of Ouro Verde D’Oeste, where we have a unit that produces swine genetics, and, with the projects, we are producing Biogas, Biomethane, and also CO2 Bio-fertilisers. We work on collecting waste from some of our members’ properties to enable an adequate volume of projects in this plant. Along with this, we have also strengthened the proper use of water. We have installed water meters on all farms to achieve more sustainable water consumption, both in washing the farms and in the disposal and washing of these animals. This is crucial for ensuring our product reaches the shelves and Consumers more sustainably.

We will provide green pork and green beef, along with increasingly sustainable product options for a growing world that demands more food. We recognise our challenges, including those highlighted by the UN, regarding feeding the global population. As Brazil positions itself as the "The World´s Supermarket" it's essential for us to effectively communicate our efforts on promoting the benefits of these friendly products for consumers eager for a more sustainable future.

Congratulations, Mr. Sabadin, President of Primato!

This bio-responsible initiative is remarkable because Brazil must consistently showcase a positive image on the global stage. This authentic representation highlights an important aspect of Brazilian reality: 11,000 agricultural families using animal waste to produce biogas, transforming Primato into a clean energy cooperative that significantly contributes to decarbonisation.

Total respect for the environment, and love for planet Earth.

The concept of Agribusiness emerged from a vision by Dr. Ray Goldberg at Harvard/USA in the 1950s as a synthesis of the sum total of factors before, inside, and after the farm gate. Agriculture encompasses factors of human history on Earth that go beyond commerce and business itself. It represents the possibility of life producing food, from ancient times for survival, evolving to bartering in medieval fairs, and today into a mix of commerce, agrI-industrialization, and marketing.
