The lack of a strategic planning for the Brasilian “Agribusiness” integrated system implies polarisation and dissatisfaction among the numerous actors and, even more, involves ideological biases and political lines. As we´re speaking, the Safra Plan and the Tax Reform are multiplying discussions and campaigns carried out by segments and sub-segments, against each other.

Agribusiness is the sum of all industries, commerce, services, agriculture and, as it represents in Brazil, as far as I calculate, around 1/3 of GDP, it requires an energetic strategic attitude.

In Brazil, we have the Confederations Forum where nine gigantic business conglomerates involve the key players vital to acting in the development and facing uncertainties in the food, energy, and environmental sectors.

The forum is made up of CNSEG (National Insurance Confederation, an essential topic in agriculture), CNI – National Confederation of Industry (industry, the largest customer and supplier of agriculture), CNC – National Confederation of Commerce, (commerce and services that move the entire agro), CNT -National Confederation of Transport (transports everything for agriculture and from agro), CNA – National Confederation of Agriculture (I mean the whole of agricultural sector), CNCOOP/OCB – National Confederation of Cooperatives/Organisation of Brasilian Cooperatives ( the country's cooperative movement , with 55% of all field production), CNSAUDE – National Confederation of Health (with total connections between food, soil, water and the environmental issues, synonymous with increasingly active nutrition), CNF – National Confederation of Financial Institutions (the institutions companies that move national agricultural capital), and to finish the nine above  mentioned, CNCOM (National Confederation of Social Communication, which´s fundamental for good and correct information against suspicious information, especially fake news), comes to our list.

The Agribusiness System (The term Agribusiness was created at Harvard by Prof.Dr.Ray Goldberg in the 1950s) requires and depends on combining all its factors, from science, and sales to the End Consumers, bringing together all industry, commerce, and services directly and indirectly with agricultural origin matters.

We´ve heard complaints over insufficient credit resources, despite their growth in the last two years. We also hear complaints about interest rates; the lack of Rural Insurance; logistics, storage, and modal transport problems; that we don't add value to our raw materials; we hear complaints that we don't know how to communicate as well.

And, to complete, we have seen ( honorable exceptions ), links in Production Chains fighting among themselves and failing to build a friendly relationship between the parties. I understand that government is part of it, and it´s very important, especially in conducting a State Strategy.

Under an evident planetary situation of climate change, and, with Brasil being a player of fundamental importance for the world, considering her six biomes and microbiomes, having an advantage in Agritropical Science and human resources, I believe the time has come at the point of urgency, where Brasilian National Confederations Forum need to create a Strategic Planning Preparation Center integrating all of the aforementioned entities, with a straight focus on the Agribusiness System.

From the “A” from avocado, including algae, to the “Z” of Zebu cattle, necessary with the participation of enterprising Business People and Cooperatives from all nine giant Brasilian agricultural confederations already mentioned.

So, together with the business confederations that make the Brasilian GDP happen, there´s no doubt the government will improve and, allied to good people that exist in the Brasilian government, yes, we will prosper at all!

Hey, confederations forum! Let's agriplan together!
