Recently, I spoke with Rita Ferrão, president of the Abbarbon (Brazilian Carbon Association), about a crucial topic in today's economy: the Carbon Market.

This emerging sector represents a new revenue stream and a significant financial opportunity for our sustainable agricultural system.

I´ve asked President Rita a key question: "Rita, what are the steps our Producers need to participate in this market?

Gently she replied: "How can farmers get involved today? It’s simple! Just reach out to us, bringing the property documentation. We'll require the Rural Environmental Registry (CAR) and the property's title records. With these papers, all producers can verify if they have Carbon Credits available, begin the certification process, and access this new revenue source."

I then inquired whether any farmers are already earning and monetizing Carbon Credits, and she confirmed: "Yes, we already have several farmers who have received income from the Carbon Market, thanks to credits generated by their properties."

I also mentioned that this market can turns into an additional income stream, similar to a new crop, or a bio-crop, and she agreed, adding:
"Exactly. This represents a new revenue stream, an annual harvest opportunity, as producers can recertify and sell their Carbon Credits each year."

Fascinated, I asked her about the potential risks and how farmers can avoid scams while dealing with legitimate Carbon Organizations, and Mrs Rita advised:
"We always urge producers to be cautious, verify information extra-carefully, and educate themselves about this field. Patience is key!

One of the key aspects of this market is the importance of spending time and relying on trustworthy sources.

With so much information available online today, organizations like ours are able to assist all producers. At ABCARBON, we offer clear guidance to help navigate these resources on an effective way.

I also asked her about the role of small producers, cooperatives, and family farms in the Carbon Market, and Mrs. Rita explained: "Now we´re certifying Small-Scale Producers. Properties, as small as 10 hectares, can qualify for participation."

Carbon Market is deeply tied to sustainability, which in turn, shapes Brazilian positive global image.

Curious about Abcarbon’s reach, I asked Mrs. Rita how influential the association has become. She shared:

“We have a strong presence both nationally and internationally. Last year, we secured three major international agreements with China, Angola, and Paraguay to advance Carbon Market development.”

Finally, I asked her how interested parties can contact Abcarbon, and Mrs. Rita invited:

“Visit our website at www.abcarbon.org.br. There, producers will find our WhatsApp, email, and a dedicated support team ready to assist everyone.”

In short, this is a reliable resource for navigating the rapidly growing Carbon Market, a sector that holds great importance for Brazil’s future and its global standing.

A agricultura brasileira é totalmente globalizada.
