I'm speaking from the northern region of the state of Goiás, city of Porangatu, near Uruaçu, a pioneering region for Expopec, a technology-focused expo aligned with this “new frontier,” which still has much to be developed.
This entire reality is fundamentally centered on livestock production, and this region of Goiás records one of the highest numbers of judicial recovery cases.
I spoke to the president of the Rural Union of Porangatu, a municipality located about 407 km from Goiânia, Ms. Ana Amélia Paulino, who told me that the major challenge is Management, specifically, Farm Management.
In fact, poor farm management has been leading producers into judicial recovery, especially in a year when uncontrollable external factors have contributed to this situation, such as rising logistics costs, fertilizer prices, uncertainties, and persistently high interest rates for agribusiness. If farmers, both men and women, don't practice excellent management, they ultimately end up facing this highly undesirable outcome.
This northern region of Goiás is highly promising, with many opportunities. People here are carrying out modern work, including regenerative livestock farming aligned with international market demands.
Today, it's no longer just about commodities, but also about food products that incorporate sustainability and health attributes from their very origin, adding value to every kilogram of meat and every bushel of grain, embedding the concept of health in its broadest sense.
At this Expopec meeting, with authorities in attendance , including leadership from Sebrae (Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service) and the Federation of Agriculture of the State of Goiás, it's worth highlighting the important role played by Sebrae and Senar (National Rural Learning Service) in the field of education.
Brazil is truly immense. Here in the northern region of Goiás, there's still much to be accomplished, and above all, strong management awareness is essential.
Highway duplication projects are underway, but the country will inevitably need a robust logistics system across these vast territories, mainly through railway transportation.
Reporting directly from northern Goiás, I'm sending my best regards! Let’s move forward with accurate Agriconscience!
